Where are all the Directioners hiding? It’s officially the ninth anniversary of One Direction and we’re caught up in our feels.
Trending on Twitter since yesterday, the hashtag #9YearsOfOneDirection is the place to celebrate and reminisce about One Direction’s achievements, best moments, and catchy music.
If you thought the forever fans were the only people tweeting under the hashtag, then you thought wrong because three of five 1D members joined in to celebrate.
Louis Tomlinson, the oldest of the boys, was the first to acknowledge the band’s birthday, reflecting on how proud and thankful he is. We’re thankful for him too.
So many incredible memories. Days like today are days for reflection, so proud looking back! Thank you for ALWAYS having our backs! Big love to the lads! #9YearsOfOneDirection

Liam Payne shared a message on both his Twitter and Insta story, saying how crazy it is that the fans are still getting them trending worldwide.
9 years… Amazing to look back at all the memories and even now you got us trending worldwide after 9 years. You truly are the best fans in the world ❤ #9YearsOfOneDirection

Meanwhile, Niall Horan tweeted a big thank you for the years of support.
9 years!! Can’t thank you all enough for all the support over the years. Love you

And if that wasn’t enough, former tour drummer Josh Devine Instagrammed a video of him playing “You and I” on tour with the boys, along with a cute message thanking the boys for letting him join them on their journey, while former bass player Sandy Beales wished a heartfelt congrats. We most definitely aren’t tearing up at that…
9 years! Wow, congrats lads. It was special to get to experience it with you all! The greatest times with the greatest people! Thanks for changing my life #9YearsOfOneDirection

The dreamboat boyband was formed by Simon Cowell on Season 7 of The X Factor U.K. in 2010, after auditioning for the show individually. They made it all the way to the finals where they were crowned third place. So it only makes sense that the place where it all started would give them a shoutout.

And while our hearts are so full with love for the boys, we can’t help but wonder if Harry Styles and former band member Zayn Malik will join the festivities or have moved on with their lives. We’re hoping it’s the former option, because we’re definitely still holding out for a reunion tour. Until then, let’s go back in time and watch where it all began.
