Have no fear, the iHeartRadio MMVAs are almost here. We’re excited to announce another stacked lineup of performers and presenters taking the stage at the biggest party of the year. Find out who’s officially coming and feel FOMO no mo’.
On August 26, expect to scream for performances by 5 Seconds of Summer, Kris Wu, and Meghan Trainor. The show will also feature Tyra Banks, Derek Hough, Jenni ‘JWOWW’ Farley, Sonequa Martin-Green, and Prince Michael Jackson as presenters.
These names will join the star-studded iHeartRadio MMVAs roster that includes previously announced acts Alessia Cara, Halsey, Marshmello featuring Anne-Marie.
It’s been way more than 15 minutes of fame for 5 Seconds of Summer. Retiring from their pop-punk sound, the Australian mates have returned with a revitalized rock sound on their studio album Youngblood and respective record-breaking single “Youngblood.” The boy band from down under will be hitting the stage for the first time ever at this year’s MMVAs.
Former South Korean-Chinese boy bander, Kris Wu, stole hearts when he was a part of EXO, the internationally renowned Korean pop group. Now, he’s making his iHeartRadio MMVAs debut as a solo artist with his rap and R&B heavy hitters. Hip hop maven, Travis Scott, collaborated with the Chinese artist on his first ever single “Deserve” so he’s definitely one to watch.
Grammy Award-winner Meghan Trainor is best known for her catchy pop singles “All About The Bass,” “Like I’m Gonna Lose You,” and “No.” Trainor is using her power for good by promoting feminism and body positivity—a message worth hearing on her new album Treat Myself, due out August 31. Her latest releases “No Excuses” and “Let You Be Right” show no signs that the artist is ready to slow down. Here’s hoping we’ll get a taste of more new music at this year’s show.
Tyra Banks is the supermodel—now super-hyphenate—who claimed her fame on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, The Tyra Banks Show and most notably, America’s Next Top Model. The producer-businesswoman-actor-author is taking a brief break from hosting on America’s Got Talent to present at this year’s iHeartRadio MMVAs.
Derek Hough is no stranger to the stage having starred in Dancing with the Stars, Footloose: The Musical, Hairspray Live!, and Nashville. The World of Dance judge comes to the iHeartRadio MMVAs to present—maybe he’ll show off some quick dance moves while he’s at it?
Known from her days as a GTLer on MTV’s Jersey Shore, Jenni Farley also went on to star in the Jersey Shore spin-off Snooki & JWoww. Most recently, Farley took a break from being a social influencer and YouTuber to head to Miami with the gang for Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, which is returning for a second season this August.
Actor, writer, and producer Sonequa Martin-Green is best known for her roles on The Walking Dead, Once Upon a Time and New Girl. The TV star made major headlines when she earned the title of the first-ever black female lead on Star Trek, now she’ll command this year’s iHeartRadio MMVA stage as a presenter.
The eldest child of pop legend Michael Jackson has followed his father’s footsteps by embarking in a career in entertainment. Jackson has preferred to be behind the screens as a director, producer, and screenwriter for his entrepreneurial endeavour, King’s Son Productions. Switching it it up, Prince is moving on-screen to present at this year’s show.
The 2018 iHeartRadio MMVAs go down Sunday, August 26 at 9E/6P on CTV and Much.
