Back in 2014, Canadian singer Dallas Green—aka City and Colour—teamed up with pop superstar Pink to form a surprising folk group. Together, the two artists named themselves You+Me and released their debut album Rose Ave.
The group came after years of friendship between Green and Pink, real name Alecia Moore. The pair met through a mutual friend, with Green opening for Pink during the U.K. leg of one of her tours.
The debut and so far only record from the pair featured the beautifully somber singles “You and Me,” “Break The Cycle” and “Capsize,” with the two performing together a handful of times on TV and in concert.
Since releasing Rose Ave., City and Colour released the 2015 album If I Should Go Before You, with Pink taking a break from music, with You+Me’s debut her most current album.
Now Pink has returned to the stage and reunited with her You+Me partner. This past weekend, Pink played the Ottawa Bluesfest and closed her high energy set full of pop hits with a You+Me reunion. Bringing out Green, who has played the fest as City and Colour many times before, the pair performed a handful of tracks from Rose Ave..
We’re not sure whether they onstage reunion is two pals playing music together or hints at a possible second You+Me album, but we’re hoping for the latter.
