Pop music’s favourite rebel Pink is back with a new single and new music video.
Teaming up again with Max Martin and Shellback (“So What”, “Raise Your Glass”), Pink has recorded the original track “Just Like Fire” for Tim Burton’s Alice Through The Looking Glass. Starring Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, Sacha Baron Cohen, Johnny Depp and Mia Wasikowska, the film is a follow-up to 2010’s delightfully dark take on Alice In Wonderland.
“Just Like Fire” is a self-empowerment anthem, something we’re used to hearing from the pop singer, but the sound is all new for Pink. The anthemic track features layered vocals and shows off the former R&B singer’s rapping skills. Nice flow, Pink.
Pink released the new single back in April and has now dropped a trippy music video to match. The video opens with Pink’s husband Carey Hart offering his wife a cup of tea. Pink, who is single handily increasing memberships for aerial yoga across the world, shows off her impressive moves before walking through the looking glass and become engulfed in the world of Wonderland. Playing a number of characters, Pink recreates some of the most famous scenes from “Alice In Wonderland,” including the chess game and the tea party, before shipped off to a psychiatric hospital by Hart.
Pink’s last solo album was 2012’s The Truth About Love. In 2014, Pink teamed up with Canadian singer-songwriter Dallas Green to form the duo You+Me. The pair released the album rose ave., which featured the singles “You and Me”, “Capsized” and “Break The Cycle”.
Pink’s “Just Like Fire” is out now and Alice Through The Looking Glass hits theatres on May 27.
