The boys of PrettyMuch are kicking it by the campfire and soaking up the sun in their latest music video for their Ed Sheeran-penned single “Summer on You.”
The video, directed by Tim Mattia, was filmed at Big Bear Lake in California, and shows the boys daydreaming about serenading their girlfriends while they grind it out at their summer jobs.
Austin is seen working hard in a kitchen, while Nick is getting down and dirty at his job in an auto shop. Just like any other typical teenager embarking on adulthood, Zion, Brandon, and Edwin all have their rooms packed up and ready to go, which may indicate that this is the last summer they all have together before embarking on college. If you watch closely, you can even catch Zion mulling over an acceptance letter from Carleton University, which is located in his hometown of Ottawa.
Nick Mara talks to Digital Journal about the latest single and what it was like to work with Sheeran.
“It’s a blessing. As soon as we got the opportunity to have a song written by Ed, it was a great feeling. We were really excited. We waited a full year just to release it. We are happy that it is released,” he said.
The release of “Summer on You” follows the group’s EP, PRETTYMUCH an EP, which included smash hits such as “Healthy,” and “10,000 Hours.” There’s no word yet as to whether or not the single will be featured on a full length album, but now that they’re fresh off their massive tour with Grammy-nominated artist Khalid, there’s plenty of time for them to record more summer bops.
