The boys of summer are back with a new single.
Just hours before the summer solstice last night, the boy of PRETTYMUCH dropped their brand new single, fittingly titled “Summer on You,” and we think it just might be the ultimate bop of the summer. Written by Ed Sheeran and produced by British record producer Steve Mac, “Summer on You” features heavy vocals with very little instrumentation, proving that there isn’t a note these boys can’t perfectly hit. Sheeran’s vibe can be heard throughout the entire song within the breezy strums of the guitar and the smooth-like-butter harmonies. Listen to the full song below.
The boys are fresh off their massive tour with Grammy-nominated artist Khalid, where they’ve performed the unreleased version of the song to lucky fans. In an interview, they described the track as being tailored for the summer. “It’s a song for like a campfire, very stripped back. It has a good summer vibe.”
The release of “Summer on You” is subsequent the group’s 2018 EP, PRETTYMUCH an EP, which includes smash-hits such as “Healthy,” and “10,000 Hours.” Although we’re hoping that the boys release more summery tunes, there’s no word yet as to whether or not “Summer on You” will be featured on a new PRETTYMUCH EP, but here’s to hoping.
