The best thing about art is that everyone interprets it differently. That idea is coming through loud and clear in PUP’s new music video “Free At Last.” The punk band shared the lyrics and chord progression for their new single online and invited fans to upload their own version of the song as they interpreted it. With over 250 entries, PUP and their fans proved that there are many ways to hear and enjoy “Free At Last.” We’re kinda digging the Opera cover.
Revealing with the song actually sounds like this week, PUP uploaded the music video for “Free At Last,” which includes a compilation of fan made covers. Eagle eye viewers may spot a very famous face around the 0:55 second mark. That’s Finn Wolfhard, fellow Canadian, Stranger Things actor, lead singer of the rock band Calpurnia, and self-described PUP fan.
“Free At Last” is the second single from PUP’s upcoming third studio album Morbid Stuff, which is set to be released on April 5. It follows the band’s high energy track “Kids,” which dropped in January, along with news of the album and a pre-order that allows access to early merch options, including an Annihilation Preparedness Kit, complete with a waterproof container, a band-aid dispenser, a cutlery set, and even an inflatable boat. There’s also a PUP colouring book and pencil crayons. It won’t save your life, but it is fun.

PUP’s Morbid Stuff Tour kicks off March 26 in Calgary.
