First Look At Rihanna Taking On The Iconic ‘Psycho’ Role For ‘Bates Motel’

Rihanna Bates Motel

Dropping one of the most critically and commercially successful albums of 2016 with Anti would be enough of an achievement for most artists, but Rihanna’s pop culture domination doesn’t stop with music.

The Barbados-born artist has gathered a handful of on-screen credits throughout her career, including quick guest appearances in films like This Is The End and Annie, all the way up to leading roles in the animated Home and Battleship.

Rihanna is again returning to the big screen this year, but in addition to the box office, she’s also setting her sights on TV. Because really, what can’t RiRi do?

The trailer for the final season of Bates Motel was released today and shows Rihanna as unsuspecting hotel guest Marion Crane, a role that was originally portrayed by Janet Leigh in Alfred Hitchcock’s 1960’s classic thriller Pyscho.

While the original film included the death of Crane, a woman on the run, in the first act, the TV series plans on keeping Rihanna on for a few episodes. So far there’s no word on whether Rihanna will recreate Leigh’s iconic shower scene, but we think RiRi is up to the task.

In addition to today’s new Bates Motel trailer, this week also included the first look at Rihanna in the upcoming 2018 female reboot of the Ocean’s franchise Oceans 8. Rihanna will be part of the A-list cast/heist group that includes Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, Sarah Paulson, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling and Awkwafina.

First looQ at #Oceans8 …. Coming summer 2018.
