With over 50 music videos under her belt, Rihanna has continually pushed artistic boundaries to create some of the most famous visual pieces of the past decade. But when you’re one of the biggest pop stars in the world, what’s left? How about running headfirst into a group of screaming fans? That’ll work.
Rihanna released a one minute music video for her ANTI track “Goodnight Gotham” this week, which features the singer taking on a group of French fans.
In the video, Rihanna arrives by car to Trocadero Square in Paris and jumps out, barreling straight into a mob of screaming fans who had been tipped off to the singer’s whereabouts. Rihanna wears a silver jumpsuit and drops her jacket as she runs towards the mob, who hoist her up in the coolest crowd surfing experience ever. We assume.
It’s a scene that would have most celebs running in the opposite direction, but Rihanna is smiling and carefree in the short clip, taking pictures with delighted fans and soaking in the adoration.
The pop singer had a busy weekend, dropping her new video shot in Paris, then flying from Paris to Toronto to act as the surprise guest at Drake’s annual OVO show.
The duo performed their duets “Work” and “Too Good,” with a solo Rihanna remaining on stage to play her singles “Bitch Better Have My Money” and “Needed Me.”
Drake has appeared at a handful of Rihanna’s ANTI Tour dates, but this is the first time in OVO Fest’s seven years that Rihanna has hit the stage. Let the romance rumours continue.
