Sam Smith is (almost) back. The British singer took some time off following the whirlwind success of his debut 2014 album In The Lonely Hour and returned to the charts in September with his lead single “Too Good At Goodbyes.” The somber ballad marked Smith’s first release since 2015’s Oscar winning James Bond theme song “The Writing Is On The Wall.”
On Friday, Smith announced the title and release date of his highly anticipated sophomore effort and his upcoming tour. The Thrill Of It All will be released on November 3 and feature 10 new songs, including lead single “Too Good At Goodbyes.”
Smith has now given fans another teaser, this time in the form of a trailer for his upcoming album.
Just released today, the trailer shows Smith and his co-writers in the studio along with a choir. Smith and co. record vocals for “Too Good At Goodbyes” and his latest single “Pray,” as well as previously unreleased tracks.
The trailer arrives just a few days after Smith performed as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live. Returning to the famous stage at 30 Rock for a second time, Smith delivered stunning performances of “Too Good At Goodbyes” and “Pray.”
Smith will kick off his North American tour in Toronto on June 18, 2018. The British singer will play a total of five Canadian dates, including Toronto, Montreal, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver.
