We’re just over three weeks away from the 2016 JUNO Awards and the show is heating up with five new performers added to the bill today. Solo artists Scott Helman, Shawn Hook and Coleman Hell will be hitting the stage alongside Vancouver electro duo Dear Rouge and folk couple Whitehorse when the JUNO Awards invade the Calgary Saddledome on Sunday, April 3.
Three of the newly announced performers are also enjoying their first year as nominees, including Scott Helman, Coleman Hell and Dear Rouge.
MMVA performer Scott Helman received two nominations for Breakthrough Artist of the Year and Pop Album of the Year for his debut Augusta. Coleman Hell will face off against Helman for Breakthrough Artist of the Year, while Dear Rouge earned a nomination for Breakthrough Group of the Year.
Also landing two nominations are duo Whitehorse, with nods for Adult Alternative Album of the Year and Recording Engineer of the Year.
Pop artist Shawn Hook will have some stiff competition in his category of JUNO Fan Choice Award, which also includes Carly Rae Jepsen, Coeur de Pirate, Drake, Justin Bieber, Walk off the Earth, and fellow performers Shawn Mendes, The Weeknd, Dean Brody and Alessia Cara.
In addition to the five performers announced today, the 2016 JUNO Awards will also feature performances from Alessia Cara, The Weeknd, Dean Brody, Bryan Adams and Shawn Mendes.
