Selena Gomez has kept her role strictly behind the camera as the Executive Producer on Seasons 1 and 2 of 13 Reasons Why, but now the singer and actor is showing off her more dramatic side in a new music video. Recorded for the Season 2 soundtrack of her hit YA series, “Back To You” is Gomez’s latest song about loving someone even though you know they’re bad for you and then going back to them time and again. We have no idea who could have inspired this song. Zero…
Back to the song, Gomez told Beats 1 Radio host Zane Lowe that “Back To You” is her special project for the most recent season of 13 Reasons Why, although it’s not the only song that’s brought her back to the studio. Although she hasn’t announced any plans for a follow up to Revival, Gomez confirmed that she does currently have enough tracks to fill her third studio album. So, now we wait.
Until then, we have Gomez’s latest music video, which doubles as a silent movie. Inspired by the Italian countryside, the retro visuals open with Gomez at a party looking bored until she spots a blond that she instantly falls for. The two steal a car and have a few carefree moments until everything goes off the rails. Even knowing that things will end badly, Gomez still goes back to the same guy at the end of the video. Aw love. It inspires terrible decisions.
“Back To You” gives Selena the chance to flex some of her acting muscles that we haven’t seen in a while, with the singer delivering a GIFable performance of emotions.
There’s angry Selena.
And bored Selena.
Here’s the surprised version of Selena.
Our fave is dramatic Selena.
