Here’s Your First Look At The Stripper Heist Movie ‘Hustlers’

Cardi B, Jennifer Lopez, and Constance Wu get that money in the first trailer for their upcoming movie, Hustlers.

The trailer shows the strippers-turned-hustlers getting back at their Wall Street customers and doing some serious shopping. Lead by J-Lo, who declares that, “The game is rigged, and it does not reward people who play by the rules,” the girl gang is ready to take what’s theirs. The highly anticipated film, produced by Adam McKay (who was behind the darker financial flick, The Big Short), features a kickass cast of women including Lizzo, Julia Stiles, and Lili Reinhart. Backed by Cardi’s song “Money,” it’s hard to not feel hyped up after just the first couple of scenes of the trailer.

There’s some funny moments in the first look, like J-Lo pulling out her phone in the middle of a police interview, but the film is actually inspired by a true story as told by this article published in 2015. The article tells the modern day Robin Hood-esque tale of strippers scamming rich businessmen out of their large amounts of money. It seems like it could be the plot of a Cardi B music video—especially since the rapper has also been open about her past as a stripper. This also isn’t the first time Cardi and J-Lo have paired up together either. The New York natives teamed up on J-Lo’s song “Dinero.”

The revolution is here and J-Lo is leading the charge. Catch Hustlers in theatres September 13, 2019.
