Even when Kanye West tries to do something nice things can still get messy. After inclement weather forced yesterday’s closing show for the Governors Ball to shut down in New York City, West did his best to give fans a show.
The rapper headed to the Hot 97 Summer Jam for a short set and then moved on to a secret show at Webster Hall, but once fans figured out where the Life of Pablo performer would be appearing, the swarming crowd of more than 4,000 reached ‘near-riot’ conditions outside the 1,500 capacity theatre.
Webster Hall announced on their Twitter page at 1:45 a.m. that the show had been cancelled, but fans who spotted West and wife Kim Kardashian West driving around the city hoped the pair would find an alternative location for the concert.

There were some tweets about a possible pop up show at the Trump SoHo, but in the end, West’s best intentions led to a few people passing out in the swarm of fans and no show.
