Taylor Swift Confirms Role In ‘Cats’

When you think of Taylor Swift and cats, you may picture her adorable feline friends, Meredith and Olivia. Now you can picture her as Bombalurina, her role in the movie adaptation of the hit musical Cats.

Swift shared several snaps from the set on her Instagram, confirming her part in the movie due out this December. Filming in London, Swift seemed thrilled with the steady snowfall taking place on her first days on set.

“So I am on set for Cats and it is fully snowing,” she said as snowflakes collected in her hair. She followed up with a video of her jumping through the snow.

“Always too excited,” she captioned the Instagram story.

In the musical, Bombalurina is a flirtatious red cat who is protective of her friends and loves to sing and dance—sounds like a pretty fitting role for Tay Tay, if you ask us.

Swift joins an already star-studded cast for the film including James Corden (Bustopher Jones), Jennifer Hudson (Grizabella), and Idris Elba (Macavity). She shared the stage with Elba at the Golden Globes earlier this month and sent Twitter into a frenzy with excitement for her role in the film.

This won’t be Swift’s first time on the big screen. She starred as Felicia in the 2010 flick Valentine’s Day, voiced Audrey in the 2011 animated hit The Lorax, and had a small role as the piano-playing Rosemary in the 2014 drama The Giver.

Wonder if Meredith and Olivia will get to visit their mom on the Cats set?
