Canadian duo Tegan and Sara dropped their eighth studio album Love You To Death this past June and quickly hit the road, kicking off a world wide tour on June 22. The twins spent the summer touring the UK, Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan before returning to North America to play shows in the US and Canada, eventually wrapping in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on November 16.
Even with their packed tour schedule, the Quin sisters still managed to release eight music videos from their latest album, including this month’s puppet inspired “Dying To Know.” Now Tegan and Sara have released a video for the albums’ lead track “That Girl,” bringing fans along for their recent world tour.
Directed by Allister Ann, the black and white tour video shows Tegan and Sara performing to huge crowds, hanging backstage and doing radio press while on the road. Essentially, it makes the rockstar life look even cooler than we had imagined.
With the release of today’s video, “Hang On To The Night” is the only remaining track from Love You To Death that has yet to receive a music video treatment. Working with a number of artists and directors, the music videos for Love You To Death have included dramatic doggie makeovers for “100 X,” contemporary dancers for “White Knuckles,” and more sexual innuendos than we thought could fit into one music video for “Stop Desire.”
In addition to releasing “That Girl” this week, Tegan and Sara also launched their new Tegan and Sara Foundation, which aims to “fight for justice, health and representation for LGBTQ girls and women.”
