Ah, Coachella. The annual two-weekend festival in California wrapped up their first three days on Sunday, and had quite a lot to show for it. The festival always brings out the best in the celebrity world. There’s a plethora of (sometimes random) guest appearances during performers’ sets, there’s the celebs ready to set trends with some unique new styles and outfits, and then you got some celebs who are just there having fun. We rounded it all up for you in the best Instagram posts from celebrities during the first weekend of Coachella 2016.
T-Swift kicks off Coachella with her newly bleached hair she debuted on the cover of Vogue last week. Bleachella, for sure.
Lana Del Rey ditched the face coverage and challenged her fans to a little game of “catch me if you can.” The hat was cool, though.
Lana Del Rey also took some time during the Guns N’ Roses set to selfie with the always glamorous Fergie.
Speaking of “catch me if you can,” Rihanna was spotted with a man she is no stranger to, Leonardo DiCaprio. The two attended the festivals Neon Carnival outdoor fair and party together, with Rihanna sporting some shiny shades. Rihanna later joined Calvin Harris on stage for their hit We Found Love. This picture isn’t from Rihanna’s Instagram, but how could we resist showing Rihanna?!
In what may have been the coolest sequence of photos posted over the weekend, rapper G-Eazy showed off the empty crowd pit while doing his sound check…
He then took to the ‘gram a few hours later to show the end result of all the hard work, rocking in front of a packed festival audience.
Lorde shows us all that bucket hats can still be stylish, if you have to avoid the California sun, that is.
Of course Canada has to represent at Coachella. JUNO winner Alessia Cara shared some photos of what is probably the biggest festival performance of her young career.
Obviously Kanye West had to crash the party. Not just once, but twice. He joined Diplo on stage, (for about 30 seconds, then walked off) probably because he loves What Do You Mean.
Just before that, ‘Ye joined A$AP Rocky on stage for a surprise performance of Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to do much because of the microphones cutting off.
Kylie Jenner continues the unique outfits with this one-piece brown and gold Louis Vuitton bathing suit, complete with a matching durag.
Kendall, on the other hand, went for a more typical Coachella look, with the big hat and rounded sunglasses. Definitely not as daring as her sister’s outfit choice.
In probably the most surprising guest appearance of weekend one, Kesha joined Zedd on stage during his set, her first big performance since filing a suit against Dr. Luke. Kesha performed True Colors, a song from Zedd’s 2015 album.
In another surprise get-together, Ja Rule ran into the most profound young person, Jaden Smith. Let’s just hope a collab is incoming.
Brooklyn Beckham came through rocking the “I just got back from a family vacation” look. The cool son of the coolest dad in the world just keeps getting cooler.
Perhaps one of the most entertaining things to come from weekend one, besides the performances of course, was this video of Tyler, the Creator in a footrace with Kanye West. Can the Coachella Track Meet become an annual thing?
