Could The Rock and Chris Pratt end up starring in a movie together? Well fans—and Dwayne Johnson—are hoping so.
This past weekend, Johnson shared a video on Instagram thanking fans for the success of his new film Rampage while congratulating the stars of Avengers: Infinity War for its potentially record-breaking opening weekend. Johnson also mentioned that fans are telling him he should make a movie with Infinity War’s Star-Lord Chris Pratt, revealing that he actually has an idea for something the two of them could do together. Check out the video below.
Every crazy movie idea/goal/ambition/dirty joke, goes up on my vision board inside the hallowed walls of the #IronParadise. Congrats AVENGERS on a huge box office opening worldwide! And THANK YOU fans for voicing your wants. As always, listening to you is my #1 priority – delivering for you is my #1 goal. I like the sound of it. Could be a cool movie.. a big movie.. a FUN movie. I have an idea. #RockPratt @prattprattpratt
The video ends before any details are provided about this movie idea Johnson has, but it’s not hard to see why fans want the duo to star in a film together. Both actors have a powerful screen presence and can do action as well as comedy with equally impressive skill.
While it’s definitely too late to add Pratt to Jungle Cruise or Johnson’s Fast and the Furious spinoff Hobbs and Shaw (which are both set to start shooting soon), fans are speculating that there could be a potential role for the Jurassic World star in the sequel to Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, which is planned for late 2019.
Some are also speculating that the project is already in the works and it’s actually Red Notice, Johnson’s collaboration with Skyscraper director Rawson Marshall Thurber that’s set for release in 2020. According to Looper, Johnson is currently the only actor confirmed for the film, so it’s possible that he’s eyeing Pratt to be his right-hand man.
But considering how busy each actor is, it’s safe to assume they both have a handful of yet-to-be-announced projects in the early stages of development, meaning it might be something else entirely for this Rock-Pratt movie. But with each actor having such busy schedules, it also means it might be some time before fans get to see this duo unite on the big screen.
But there’s no denying the two share a mutual appreciation for one another’s work.
Karen… Jumanji is amazing!!! We laughed SO hard. I LOVED IT SO MUCH. OMG You’re amazing in it. Also, this is not a joke, it made me choke up a little. Straight up. Real tears. Congrats to you @TheRock @KevinHart4real and #JackBlack 10/10 #smolder #weaponsvalet🤘🏼👍🏼 https://t.co/iT1cYjdVhb

Unfortunately, the least likely scenario would be the duo starring in a superhero movie together. The two are currently working in opposite superhero realms with Pratt firmly anchored in the Marvel Universe and Johnson set to be DC’s Black Adam.
Pratt has yet to comment on whether or not he’s as interested in the pairing as Johnson is, but if so, it will definitely be a movie worth seeing.
