Here’s Your First Peek At ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ Remake

The Rocky Horror Picture Show

Let’s do the time wrap again! That’s what you’re going to be singing for the rest of the day after watching the trailer for Fox’s The Rocky Horror Picture Show remake.

The original musical-horror movie was released in 1975 and starred Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick. It follows the story of a young, engaged couple that approaches Dr. Frank-N-Furter’s castle looking for a telephone after their car breaks down. Little did they know, they walked into the celebration of an Annual Transylvanian Convention.

The news of Kenny Ortega (who directed Hocus Pocus and all the High School Musical movies) directing and choreographing the remake broke news last April. Fox originally planned a remake in 2002 for the 30th anniversary of the movie, but plans fell through. The same happened in 2008 when MTV wanted to resurrect the classic.

The first big casting announcement was made around Halloween last year, as Emmy Award nominee Laverne Cox was cast to play the seductive Frank-N-Furter. Nickelodeon’s Victoria Justice will play Sarandon’s role Janet Weiss, and Disney’s Ryan McCartan will play her fiancée Brad Majors. Christina Milian as Magenta, Reeve Carney as Riff Raff, and model/musician Staz Nair as Rocky add to the star-studded cast. Tim Curry, who played Frank-N-Furter in the original film, will be making an appearance as the Criminologist Narrator.

The exact air date has not yet been released, but we do know it’s going to be around Halloween this year. Fall in love at first sight with the official trailer below!
