Jake Gyllenhaal is the latest celebrity to be a really, really good sport on the Tonight Show. After the success of the skits ’80s TV Shows’ with Jon Hamm and later the ‘Point Pleasant Police Department’ with Alec Baldwin and Bill Hader, it was Gyllenhaal’s turn to have some food spit in his face. Actually, a lot of food.
The actor appeared on The Tonight Show this week to promote his upcoming film Demolition, directed by Canadian filmmaker Jean-Marc Vallée. In addition to discussing his new role, Gyllenhaal also reminisced about the season he spent shooting the Point Pleasant Police Department with Jimmy Fallon.
While past guests have always been a little slow on the spitting, Gyllenhaal obviously knew what he was getting into and used a mouthful of sweet potato pie as the best offense. Well played, Jake.
Demolition premiered at TIFF last fall and will be released next month on April 8.
Watch The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Monday to Friday at 11:30E on CTV Two and catch repeats weekdays at 4E/1P on Much.
