The Weeknd Drops Trippy Video For ‘Party Monster’

Party Monster Video

The Weeknd has released his latest video from 2016’s Starboy, continuing the same storyline and aesthetic from the album’s lead video “Starboy,” the second single “False Alarm” and the short film Mania.

“Party Monster” features neon lights, red tints, speeding sports cars, a CGI panther and oversized crosses—all images the Toronto native has carried throughout his visuals for Starboy.

Teaming up again with director BRTHR (“In The Night”), The Weeknd (real name Abel Tesfaye) comes face to face with actor Zoe Aggeliki, who he finds himself with in a drag race across the desert. The Weeknd takes a break from racing to hit up a party filled with beautiful women, who may or may not “have an ass like Selena’s.” Of course, we now know that line was more than just a passing crush.

The new single features vocals from Lana Del Rey, who The Weeknd previously worked with on his Grammy winning album Beauty Behind The Madness and who also contributes vocals to Stargirl, the Starboy interlude. In addition to Del Rey, Starboy also features appearances from Kendrick Lamar, Future and Daft Punk.

The Weeknd’s third studio album Starboy was released on November 25, and debuted at number one the Billboard chart, with all 18 songs charting individually as well.

Starting April 25 in Vancouver, The Weeknd is hitting the road on a North American tour that includes five Canadian dates.
