Toronto’s PUP Drop New Single ‘Kids’ And Announce Album And Tour

PUP

If you’re looking for a new song to get you hyped during the long, dreary days of January, Toronto punk band PUP have answered your call. The band just dropped their latest single “Kids,” a high-energy dropkick that is reminiscent of the band’s predecessors like Rancid and Black Flag.

Releasing a statement on the hard-hitting new single, lead singer Stefan Babcock says “‘Kids’ is a love song from one nihilistic depressive to another. It’s about what happens when you stumble across the only other person on the face of this godless, desolate planet that thinks everything is as twisted and as fucked up as you do. And thanks to them, the world starts to seem just a little less bleak. But only slightly—it’s still pretty fucked up to be honest.”

PUP first delivered the song to fans via their zine, later uploading the single onto YouTube on January 15. “Kids” acts as the first single from the group’s upcoming third studio album Morbid Stuff, which is set to be released on April 5. For fans who pre-order the album, the early merch options are pretty sweet, including an Annihilation Preparedness Kit, complete with a waterproof container, a band-aid dispenser, a cutlery set, and even an inflatable boat. There’s also a PUP colouring book and pencil crayons. It won’t save your life, but it is fun.
