If you’re looking for your daily horror fix, Travis Scott and Kendrick Lamar have just delivered in a big way. The rappers collaborated on Scott’s single “goosebumps,” and the track’s new video is a scream-filled, psychedelic trip. Think of it as what R.L. Stine would have written for adults.
The video features Scott walking through a house party, past a bare knuckle brawl and landing on a Game of Thrones-type throne, where he eventually debuts a new set of angel wings. As for Lamar, the Compton native appears during the end of the video to perform his verse, rapping while laying on a green screen and then later playing off Scott as the two men sway together in front of a burning backdrop.
“goosebumps” is part of Scott’s 2016 sophomore album Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight, with the cover depicting Scott wearing angel wings from this week’s new video. “goosebumps” follows the two lead singles “wonderful” featuring The Weeknd and “pick up the phone” with Young Thug featuring Quavo. The album also includes appearances from Andre 3000, Kid Cudi, Bryson Tiller, and Toronto’s Nav.
Scott spoke with BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe this week and revealed that the recently released music video was the fourth version of “goosebumps,” which was directed by Brthr. He also confirmed that fans can expect a collaboration album with Migos rapper Quavo in the near future, after the two already worked together on Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight. Showing no signs of slowing down, Scott also confirmed he’s completed three new tracks for his next solo album, titled Astralworld.
As for Lamar, the prolific rapper is gearing up to release his fourth studio album possibly this week. Lamar surprised fans with two new singles in March, including “The Heart Part 4” and “Humble,” which also featured a new music video (watch here).
