The internet may be buzzing with the recent release of Drake’s Hotline Bling video, but Drizzy isn’t the only Canadian rapper making waves right now. Fellow Toronto hip hop artist Jazz Cartier just dropped his latest video and we have the exclusive premiere!
Like his name suggest, Cartier enjoys the finer things in life in his video for Wake Me Up When It’s Over. Though his day starts in a shack, Cartier quickly moves on to enjoying life in a mansion, complete with champagne and orange juice, playing a grand piano, receiving fencing lessons from a beautiful woman, and finally ending the day by throwing a party, complete with his own marching band to back his performance.
Wake Me Up When It’s Over features Cartier’s sleepy vocals on the chorus, an exciting juxtaposition to the track’s fun beat and clear verses.
The new single is off Cartier’s 2015 debut album Marauding in Paradise, which scored some well deserved cred after it was long-listed for this year’s Polaris Prize.
Check out the exclusive premiere of Jazz Cartier’s new video Wake Me Up When It’s Over and get ready to tell all your friends about Toronto’s newest must-hear artist.
