We may be living in a time of unprecedented celebrity accessibility through social media and onstage holograms, but fans still love getting up close and personal with A-listers, even if they’re not real.
Madame Tussaud’s knows that with the right filter, your Instagram feed can look like you spent the night at the biggest party in Hollywood. This year alone the famous studio released over a dozen new wax figures featuring some of today’s biggest names. Some of the figures looked like a celeb standing still, while others were a bit more…terrifying.
We took at look at 12 new wax figures and gave them a grading from 1 (hide yo wife, hide your kids) to 10 (you could marry that wax figure and have kids with it).
Comments: Austin seems to be a bit confused as to why his wax figure isn’t looking directly into the camera, but we think the figure is just looking at someone else’s flash.
Comments: Sheeran’s wax figure isn’t the worst recreation we’ve seen, but the tune of It’s A Small World definitely keeps popping into our head.
Comments: Honey, I shrunk Magic Mike.
Comments: If you start from the bottom and work your way up, Miley Cyrus’ Wrecking Ball figure isn’t that bad. The face looks absolutely nothing like the singer, but the giant chain is on point.
Comments: The hologram was better.
Comments: We had to do a double take to confirm which figure was real Pharrell and which was fake Pharrell. WOW.
Comments: Lorde and her wax figure are definitely on the same team. The recreation of the New Zealand teen is definitely one of the best celebrity debuts of the year.
Comments: The acrobatic-loving singer got an impressive wax representation of herself care of Madame Tussauds. The figure may look a little bit like Barbie, but that’s probably because Pink is pretty flawless looking herself.
Comments: Thankfully T Swift doesn’t have to shake off a bad wax figure. Her 1989-inspired twin is spot-on.
Comments: We love Jimmy Fallon. You love Jimmy Fallon. Everyone loves Jimmy Fallon. But, do there need to be five of him? The man has had the same haircut for the past six years. How many different “looks” does he need?
Comments: If Pitbull loves his wax figure, then we love his wax figure. Dale!
Comments: Demi Lovato received a Madame Tussaud’s wax figure for her birthday this year and while we’re not so sure about the dead eyes, Demi seems happy.
